MEET DAVID HARRISON

David Harrison is a lifelong resident of Pickens County, and a graduate of Easley High School.  David has spent the last two decades serving the citizens of this state through law enforcement. In 2000, he began his career with the South Carolina Highway Patrol as a Trooper, where he patrolled the roadways of Oconee and Pickens Counties.

During David’s time as a Trooper, he found his talent as a criminal interdiction officer. Over his career, David successfully seized millions of dollars worth of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and has made hundreds of felony arrests. His largest one-time drug seizure was a vehicle with a false compartment that contained 49 kilos of methamphetamine destined for South Carolina from California.

David was also a K9 handler for three years while assigned to the ACE Team.  In 2017, he began working for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office as a Master Deputy, and was tasked with training three deputies in criminal interdiction for a newly formed team that patrols I-85. This team of four deputies has seized over two million dollars worth of illegal narcotics and made numerous felony arrests to date.

Throughout his work in criminal interdiction, David has received numerous law enforcement awards locally and nationally. He was awarded the Trooper of the year award in 2004, and 2015 for his hard work and dedication. Other awards include the Michael J. Rao K-9 award for excellence, Commanders Award, Mark Coates Award twice, National Criminal Enforcement Association Award, several largest drug seizure awards, Supervisors Quarterly Award, and Trooper of the quarter three times.

David wants to bring his knowledge and experience to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and to the deputies who work tirelessly each day to serve the citizens of this county. He has a passion for serving others, and protecting the innocent and the weak through proactive policing. David has a plan to rid our community of these illegal narcotics that deminish the integrity of Pickens County.
